Signature Healthcare is a 217-bed, non-profit healthcare delivery system serving Southeastern Massachusetts. Its affiliated physician organization, Signature Medical Group, employs more than 150 physicians practicing in 18 ambulatory locations throughout southeastern Massachusetts.
A multi-specialty, not-for-profit hospital and physician group comprised of Brockton Hospital and Signature Medical Group, Signature Healthcare has more than 150 physicians practicing in 18 ambulatory locations.
“We are pleased to partner with MEDarchon,” said Dale J. Ellenberg, M.D., FACEP, who serves as Signature Healthcare’s director of medical education and as a member of its departments of medicine and emergency medicine. “Their software is a perfect next step for taking our clinical communications and care-team collaboration to even higher standards of excellence, for which we are well known.”
Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary
Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary (MEEI) is a Harvard-affiliated academic institution dedicated to eye, ear, nose, throat, head, and neck (ENT) care and research. MEEI is also part of the Partners HealthCare System. Ranked by US News & World Report as the #1 otolaryngology and ophthalmology hospital in New England, and #2 in the United States, Mass Eye & Ear sees about 220,000 patients annually.
Mass Eye & Ear sought to improve its mhealth by implementing a secure messaging solution. This well recognized organization was drawn to QUARC’s patient-centric design and communication workflow integration.
Over the coming months, MEEI and MEDarchon formed a partnership to implement a unified source of communication and improve overall health care IT. QUARC’s features and functionality would be critical to meeting Mass Eye & Ear’s best-in-class clinical and security guidelines.
With input from key users of medical apps at MEEI, MEDarchon established the goal of significantly decreasing need time to alert all personnel of critical patient information. Furthermore, as MEEI transitioned to EPIC, QUARC was able to easily integrate with EPIC.
MEEI clinicians can now access QUARC and perform key actions from within EPIC, receiving relevant EPIC notifications on their smartphones.
That’s a big improvement in healthcare IT.
Lane Regional Medical Center
Another good example of healthcare IT and QUARC is Lane Regional Medical Center (LMRC).
Serving 200,000 residents in northern Baton Rouge, LRMC has gained several awards for healthcare excellence. With 850 team members and 139 beds, Lane was challenged by its board to improve patient experience with provider responsiveness.
They did it with QUARC’s healthcare IT improvement capabilities.
After examining multiple solutions, Lane selected QUARC due to its healthcare information technology architecture. Specifically LMRC like QUARC’s proprietary communication workflows (i.e. intelligent routing and escalation) and in-depth analytics.
Backed by leadership support, LRMC initially went live with QUARC on a Telemetry unit. After Go-Live, the unit experienced a 40% reduction in care team response time to patient requests.
In addition, the incidence of patients making multiple calls for the same request was eliminated. Over the coming months, Lane saw their HCAHPS Provider Responsiveness Linear Scores increase from 45% to above 85%.
Today, Lane is an avid user of medical apps, including QUARC. Lane’s users assist MEDarchon with continuously improving QUARC’s features and capabilities.
